Technical Specifications
Overview
The SDXTDD-D Low-Latency Bidirectional Wireless Broadband Communication System is an industrial-grade radio link built for demanding bidirectional data, video, and control applications. It combines high-speed frequency hopping, OFDM TDD modulation, and MIMO technology to deliver up to 30 Mbps of transparent IP throughput with a system latency of just 50 ms — and as low as 40 ms end-to-end when paired with the integrated H.264 codec.
Unlike consumer WiFi solutions, the SDXTDD-D operates in the 1.4 GHz licensed-free band with non-line-of-sight (NLOS) capability reaching 1–2 km in urban environments and up to 18 km under line-of-sight conditions. The radio is a pure hardware-transparent link: plug in Ethernet, power, and the link is established with no software configuration required. An innovative front-panel LCD provides real-time signal strength indication and parameter adjustment for channel bandwidth, transmit power, and AES encryption keys.
Key Features
- Ultra-low latency: Encoding/decoding delay of 40 ms and system round-trip of 50 ms, suitable for real-time robotics control and live video return.
- Flexible channel allocation: Adjustable bandwidth from 1.4 to 20 MHz via LCD, with TDD time-division duplexing requiring only a single frequency point — unlike FDD systems that need multiple spaced channels.
- Multi-user access: Supports point-to-point, point-to-multipoint (up to 16 nodes), mesh, and relay networking on a single frequency.
- Rich industrial I/O: CAN bus (1 Mbps), RS-232 (115200 bps), and TTL level interfaces for sensor integration, PTZ control, and telemetry.
- Robust security: Non-standard 256-bit dynamic AES encryption, manually configurable through the LCD panel.
- High output power: Programmable 1–10 W transmit power with dual N-type antenna ports (2T2R).
- Seamless 5G integration: Supports direct connection with Huawei 5G CPE and operator networks for wide-area backhaul.
- IP66 outdoor enclosure: Weatherproof design for fixed outdoor deployment on communication vehicles, masts, and command centers.
Technical Highlights
The SDXTDD-D leverages OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) with TDD (Time Division Duplex) to achieve robust bidirectional communication in a single frequency channel. TDD's single-frequency operation inherently avoids the adjacent-channel interference problems of FDD and pairs naturally with multi-carrier OFDM's resistance to multipath fading. When frequency-selective fading attenuates a subset of subcarriers, only those carriers are affected — error correction codes recover the lost information, while the remaining subcarriers continue to deliver full throughput. Combined with 2x2 MIMO, the system doubles effective spectral efficiency and improves link reliability in dense urban and industrial environments.
Applications
The SDXTDD-D is deployed in public safety, firefighting, traffic police, civil defense, maritime law enforcement, and border surveillance scenarios where reliable bidirectional data and video are critical. Its NLOS capability and wide voltage range (DC 9–30 V) make it a natural fit for communication vehicles, fixed outdoor monitoring stations, and command center uplinks. The low-latency profile and CAN bus interface also suit industrial robotics — enabling real-time control of unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) and robotic platforms over the same wireless link that carries HD video.
Why Choose This System
The SDXTDD-D delivers a rare combination of long-range NLOS throughput, deterministic low latency, and extensive industrial I/O in a single IP66-rated package. You get a bidirectional radio that works out of the box with no complex setup — just power, antenna, and Ethernet — while maintaining the flexibility to tune power, bandwidth, encryption, and networking mode from the front panel. For teams that need reliable bidirectional broadband in the field, on a vehicle, or in a robotic system, the SDXTDD-D replaces multiple boxes with one hardened, plug-and-play link.
