Technical Highlights

COFDM (Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) is the cornerstone of the SDX-GDA's performance. By splitting the data stream across hundreds of closely spaced orthogonal subcarriers, it effectively combats both frequency-selective fading and narrowband interference. In a single-carrier system, one deep fade or interferer can drop the entire link; in a COFDM system, only a small fraction of subcarriers are affected, and forward error correction (with code rates from 1/2 to 7/8) recovers the lost data. The receiver's space diversity combiner further improves link margin by selecting or combining the better of two spatially separated antenna paths.
