Overview

The SM-W3032B Vehicle-Mounted Narrowband Wireless Video Transmission System is the high-power complement to the SM-W3032A product family, designed for communication vehicles, command posts, and fixed installations that require wide-area wireless video coverage. It delivers the same narrowband COFDM advantages — 2 MHz spectrum compliance, superior sensitivity, and extended range — but with a transmitter output of 10 to 30 W, reaching airborne distances of 100–130 km, maritime links of 30–60 km, and urban NLOS ranges of 5–20 km.

Like its portable sibling, the SM-W3032B strictly follows the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology regulation Wireless [2008] No. 333, occupying only 2 MHz of bandwidth while delivering DVD-quality H.264 video (720x576). The vehicle-grade transmitter is built into a rack-form-factor enclosure (485 x 340 x 90 mm) with forced-air cooling adequate for continuous high-power operation. The companion receiver is a 1U 19-inch chassis providing HD1080p HDMI output alongside legacy CVBS.

Key Features

Technical Highlights

The SM-W3032B shares the narrowband COFDM architecture that gives the W30xx family its decisive range advantage. Each subcarrier in the 2 MHz COFDM symbol carries a low-rate data stream, and the aggregate signal is highly resistant to frequency-selective fading — a narrow interferer that would kill a single-carrier link only affects a handful of subcarriers, which the forward error correction (FEC) easily repairs. The 10–30 W transmit power, combined with the higher per-subcarrier SNR that narrowband operation provides, pushes the noise-limited range far beyond what any 8 MHz COFDM system at the same power can achieve.

Applications

The SM-W3032B is the primary video backhaul link for communication command vehicles in public security, firefighting, traffic police, civil defense, power and railway emergency response, and maritime patrol fleets. In a typical topology, the vehicle receives audio and video from individual soldiers carrying SM-W3032A transmitters, then relays the combined feed to a local command center over the SM-W3032B's high-power link. From there, the signal can be distributed via MAN or WAN to provincial and national command centers.

Why Choose This System

The SM-W3032B fills the gap where a portable backpack transmitter cannot deliver enough reach to cover a large operational theater. With 10 to 30 W of COFDM power and a spectrum-compliant narrowband design that extends range by roughly 25% over wideband alternatives, a single vehicle can serve as a mobile video hub covering tens of kilometers. You get the same proven COFDM robustness as the portable W3032A, scaled for long-haul vehicle-to-command-center links.
